Island holidays on Aeroe (Ærø)
Ærø is an idyllic island in the South Funen Archipelago, a group of islands off the coast of Fyn (Funen). Known for quaint Ærøskøbing, and its iconic beach huts, Ærø is also incredibly photogenic! Its old houses, beaches and island culture make it one of Denmark’s most shareable places.
Take a few days to soak up the old-world charm of Ærøskøbing, Denmark’s fairy-tale town. There are events throughout the year worth experiencing and it’s also a great base for exploring the rest of the island.
Ærø’s iconic beach huts
A beach hut is not just a beach hut on the Danish island of Ærø. It’s a gathering place for families, traditions and good times. You can see beach huts at Marstal and Vester Strand beach. The oldest hut is nearly 100 years old!
Ærø is one of Denmark’s most shareable places. At Vester Strand, VisitÆrø and VisitDenmark have chosen a great spot to capture the essence of Ærø to share on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Look out for the big red ‘Share Denmark’ sign and get sharing on #aeroe and #ærø!
