Kjøbinghus from 1645 arranges
Kjøbinghus opens the door to Ærø’s history with atmospheric guided tours and cozy coffee breaks in historic surroundings.
In the midst of Ærøskøbing’s cobblestone idyll lies Kjøbinghus – a historic market town house from 1645, where time seems to stand still. When you step through Denmark’s oldest iron-bound plank door, you are greeted by original panels, beams, and old double doors, together creating a truly special atmosphere.
On selected days, the owners invite guests to join guided tours and visit the coffee room. The tour begins outside, where you will hear about architecture and traditional building methods, and ends inside with stories of the house’s lives and destinies. In the coffee room, you can sink into the soft furniture, enjoy homemade cakes, and let calmness settle over you in the historic rooms.
Events are announced regularly on Kjøbinghus’ Instagram and Facebook pages. You also have the option to book your own private event – perfect for small groups seeking a special experience in peace and quiet.
PS.
You can also rent and stay in the entire historic property Kjøbinghus, including its own tranquil garden ;-)
