Tiny farm shop at Lille Søbygård

At Lille Søbygård, you can explore the tiny, cosy barn shop and buy delicious local produce to take home with you, including healthy and versatile purple naked barley.

Local produce

At Lille Søbygård, the land is cultivated with care and respect for nature. Among other things, purple naked barley is grown here – a special type of barley that is distinguished by its beautiful colour, high antioxidant content and mild, nutty flavour.

Purple naked barley and other grains are sold in the farm's luggage storage area, where you will find a small, self-service shop.

The purple naked barley from Lille Søbygård is grown entirely without pesticides or artificial fertilisers. Instead, cover crops are used to improve soil health and biodiversity.

The product consists of whole grains that can be used as a Nordic, sustainable alternative to rice and pasta. They are high in protein, which makes them very filling, and rich in antioxidants – the same ones found in blueberries and red wine.

Purple naked barley is both easy to prepare and incredibly versatile. It is perfect for warm dishes and salads and can even be ground into flour.
