Warrior weekend at Søbygaard
Experience a weekend filled with historical atmosphere, unique experiences, a genuine falconer, and warriors from near and far.
Welcome to “Warriors & Other Rogues” at Søbygaard on Saturday and Sunday, June 20–21.
Swords sing through the air as warriors from the Iron Age, the Viking Age, and the Middle Ages clash at Søbygaard! The event spans two days full of experiences.
Experience combat shows, warrior training, and vivid storytelling about the weapons, tactics, and battles of the past. Get up close to the sword—feel its weight and learn more about its design and use through the ages.
Children can try forming a shield wall at the warrior school, and in the field hospital, historical war surgery is brought to life in all its grisly detail.
Watch the falconer train with her impressive bird of prey and get up close to her owls.
Join a guided rampart walk and hear about the Wends’ attempts to conquer Ærø.
The event is part of the project “Ramparts & Wends,” supported by the Culture Region of Funen.
