Workshop on fermentation using locally grown vegetables from Ærø

Join in for a delicious workshop at Arnfeldt Restaurant, where you’ll learn how to ferment local vegetables and take both the flavours and the recipe home with you.

How to make your vegetables last longer through fermentation

Ariel from Arnfeldt Restaurant invites you to an exclusive workshop where you’ll learn how to ferment and preserve local vegetables from the island. Here, you’ll discover how to store seasonal ingredients and enjoy them long after the harvest.

The workshop begins with a brief introduction to fermentation. Ariel will then show you how to make kimchi yourself, for example. You’ll receive tips that you can easily put into practice at home.

Meanwhile, you’ll enjoy samples of kimchi and other fermented vegetables, as well as a glass of wine, whilst having the chance to ask questions and share experiences.

You’ll also take home a jar of kimchi and a small recipe booklet so you can continue in your own kitchen.

The workshop is led by Ariel, chef and co-owner of the Arnfeldt Hotel & Restaurant. Together with his girlfriend Manja, he runs the restaurant with a focus on great dining experiences and warm hospitality. Ariel is originally from France and has worked in several international kitchens, which has shaped his approach to ingredients and his culinary skills.

Note: The workshop will be held in English. However, Ariel understands Danish well.
