Motorfabrikken Marstal

Motorfabrikken Marstal creates synergy between business and culture in the traditional maritime town.

The beats of the world-famous ship engines have faded, and today the unique industrial and maritime history building is a dynamo for creativity, innovation and great experiences. Three local enthusiasts bought Motorfabrikken in 2017 and initiated a major restoration and establishment programme.

Today, Motorfabrikken consists of three parts:

Engine collection with workshop

Where the old engines are exhibited, demonstrated and restored by the factory's former apprentices. The workshop facilities are also used by younger inventors and local students with engine oil in their blood.

Entrepreneurial centre with coffee shop

Where maritime start-ups, small businesses and digital nomads work in an inspiring environment for sparring and collaboration.

Conference room with workshops

Where companies from all over the country organise seminars and workshops in a unique setting. Where islanders and global citizens alike share great experiences.

In the interaction between the three parts - and the rest of the local community - Motorfabrikken Marstal continues to work to add unique energy to strengthen business and culture in the traditional maritime town.
